Bob Mowery's Meadows

Located in the Clinton State park, Bob Mowery’s meadows was originally a smaller course installed in 2005 but in 2016  it was redesigned by KVDGC board member Hans Coleman to feature a full 18 holes.

This course features a scenic and beautiful tract that has a wooded interior of about nine holes and nine more open fairways. The pine trees and prairie grass give this course a distinctly Kansas feel and it offers some of the most unique holes in Lawrence.

This course ranks on the more advanced side and requires a high level of skill in both placement and distance to score competitively with many drives where both are required. There are no tee signs so looking up the layout on U disc is a great idea as well as playing with someone who knows the course. A park pass is required for entry into the state park (day pass is 5 dollars). Tee pads have been put on all holes donated and installed by KVDGC along with new baskets donated by all the hole sponsors.

Some downsides to this course are the prevalence of poison ivy and tics in the summer. Many local golfers decide to not play the course during the late spring through the summer to mitigate those risks. During the fall, winter, and early spring this just might be the best course in town for disc golfers looking for a fun challenge.

  • Free to play (but $5 per car)
  • Course length is about 3,600 ft
  • Located in Clinton State Park, Lawrence KS 66049
